ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): President of the Asian Cricket Council and Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi has strongly reacted to the Indian team’s violation of sports etiquette in the Pakistan-India Asia Cup match.
Mohsin Naqvi said in his social media message that dragging politics into the game is against its true spirit, and this attitude affects the beauty of the game. He said that he hopes that all teams will celebrate future victories with grace and dignity.
It should be remembered that after the Pakistan-India match played at the Dubai Stadium, the Indian team refused the traditional handshake with the Pakistani players, which is being called against the spirit.
According to the PCB, Pakistani team manager Naveed Akram Cheema has lodged a formal protest against the behavior of the match referee. He believes that the Indian players’ failure to shake hands is against the basic etiquette of the game.
Furthermore, national team captain Salman Ali Agha also did not attend the closing ceremony in protest against Indian behavior. According to sources, one of the reasons given for his non-participation was that the presenter of the ceremony was from India.
