AJK govt launches mobile food testing laboratory in Bhimber

BHIMBER (Kashmir English): The government of Azad Kashmir has set up a mobile food testing lab in Bhimber to curb food adulteration and ensure the public has access to quality food products.

Deputy Commissioner Mirza Arshad Mahmood Jaral inaugurated the Bhimber Mobile Laboratory, recognizing the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir’s commitment to public health and the efforts of the Food Authority technical team.

This initiative aims to take strong action against the smuggling mafia and certified results will be provided for a variety of important items, including oil, spices, water, milk, and pulses.

The lab has the ability to perform tests on-site and deliver results on the same day, which will take place in rural areas like Bhimber Barnala Samahni.
The official has said this mobile laboratory can perform all types of testing and for those reasons, ensure that quality food is available to everyone.
The on-site testing will provide certified results, thereby reducing the risk of food adulteration and protecting public health. This initiative is an example of the government’s commitment to protecting public health and safety through access to quality food.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Syed Ashfaq Gilani inaugurated the food testing van in Hattian Bala. The mobile food testing lab will be available for one day a week in the Jhelum Valley district.

The mobile food testing labs, equipped with advanced technology, will be able to take samples of various spices/milk/oil, and other food items on the spot and give their results within a few minutes.
