HATTIAN BALA (Kashmir English): A shocking incident of violence has sparked public outrage after influential men in Sarban allegedly set up an arbitrary “court” and subjected a 13-year-old boy to brutal torture, leaving his arm fractured in three places.
According to details, the victim, identified as Faizan Suleman, son of Chaudhry Suleman, was attacked while picking fruit from a peach tree. Reportedly, Raja Muhammad Ashiq, Raja Nasir, and their sons stormed into the house and viciously assaulted the boy.
Doctors at District Headquarters Hospital, Hattian Bala later confirmed that Faizan’s arm had been broken in three places.
Sources revealed that a long-standing land dispute between the families had fueled the attack. Recent rains triggered a landslide on Suleman’s property, which further intensified tensions. Despite the matter being sub judice, the accused allegedly threatened the family, warning them of dire consequences if they attempted to interfere in the disputed land.
The victim’s family, belonging to a poor background, accused the influential men of trying to seize their property through threats and violence. “Today they broke our child’s arm; God knows what will happen tomorrow. We demand immediate justice,” the family said.
The incident has triggered widespread anger in the area, with social and public circles strongly condemning the act and calling upon authorities to take strict legal action against those responsible.
