MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir Englihs): The Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Mir Akbar, has launched the spring plantation campaign from Jalalabad Garden by planting a sapling.
The program was attended by Secretary of Agriculture Chaudhry Imtiaz Ahmed, Director of Agriculture Extension Amna Rafi, and senior officials of the department.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Akbar urged all available resources to be utilized to beautify Jalalabad Garden. This initiative is part of the government’s activities directed towards environmental protection and conservation.
Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Sardar Mir Akbar Khan is responsible for driving the development of the agricultural sector in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, with his department being concerned most particularly with improving farm practices and enhancing the use of agricultural inputs in support of farmers.
Earlier, The Public Health Department along with other departments of Haveli district on Wednesday started a tree plantation drive in the district over the instruction of Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwarul Haq.
As per details, District Health Officer (DHO) Haveli Dr. Jawad Afzal kicked off the tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling at Halan Shumali.
The chief guest of the tree plantation ceremony was Lieutenant Colonel Syed Subhan Shah, besides officers of the Forest Department, including staff and a large number of local people also participated.
During the tree plantation ceremony, Range Officer Forest Abdul Manaf Kayani gave an orientation session to the participants about the importance of tree plantation and tree cultivation.
He informed the participants about the importance of tree planting and tree protection and also informed them about the details of the “Plantation Driver” run by the Government of Azad Kashmir.
The Forest Department also distributed various types of saplings in the area and informed the public about the plantation and protection of saplings.
