HAVELI (Kashmir English): Public Health Department Haveli district has achieved another important milestone as the first successful cesarean section (C-section) was completed at MDS Military Hospital Haveli with the cooperation of District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Haveli.
As per details, a gynecological patient with extreme complications was taken to MDS for surgery, where the patient’s successful surgery was performed in the operation theater recently established under the joint venture of the three institutions.
The OPD and C-section operation theater was established in collaboration with the District Health Office Haveli, DHQ Hospital Forward Kahuta, and MDS.
This grand initiative will help reduce the huge problem of gynecological patients in Haveli, for which gynecological patients had to be shifted to distant hospitals in an intensive care setting.
On the occasion, District Health Officer Haveli Dr. Jawad Afzal Kiani, Commandant MDS Colonel Usman, MS DHQ Hospital Forward Kahuta Dr. Taskin Ahmed thanked the entire team of doctors for the first successful operation.
The team of doctors included Anaesthetist Dr. Col. Mohsin Sultan, Surgical Specialist Major Dr. Qaiser, Gynecologist Dr. Ayesha Shabbir from DHQ, while other staff for assistance included MDS Operation Theater staff Shahid Mahmood, Mujahid Omar, Abdul Ghaffar, Female Nursing Staff from DHQ Ifrat Shaheen, Kanwal, Nusrat Saeed ADC/LHV from DHO Office, Samina Begum CMW, and Saira Bano.
Addressing after the successful operation, DHO Haveli Kahuta Dr. Jawad Afzal Kiani said that as a joint effort, we have brought such a joint venture program in which the professional staff of DHO Office, LHVs and community midwives, expert gynecologists, surgical specialists, medical specialist doctors of DHQ Hospital Haveli Kahuta, Dr. Ayesha Shabbir, Dr. Tabinda, and expert doctors and staff of MDS have been included.
As per the said joint venture program, Dr. Ayesha Shabbir, Gynecologist, along with LHV/ADC National Program Nusrat Saeed Military Hospital MDS will examine the gynecological patients every Wednesday.
The next day will be the operation day where the gynecological patients will be treated for the operation.
On this occasion, the DHO visited MDS and congratulated the parents of the first successful C-section baby and appreciated the professionalism of the doctors and staff of the three institutions who were part of this procedure for starting this service for the residents of Haveli.
He paid tribute to them for their services and expressed the hope that, God willing, our efforts will significantly reduce the problems of the gynecological patients of Haveli.
“The Public Health Department is trying to make the equipment related to the operation theater and surgeries of District Hospital Haveli Kahuta functional as soon as possible, for which Dr. Taskin is working with the higher authorities, but it takes some time, till then we have to reduce the problems of Gynecological patients through this collaboration,” he added.
