MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Kashmir Health Department on Friday announced its decision regarding the affiliation of District Headquarter Hospital Hattian Bala and Bagh as Teaching Hospitals with medical colleges.
The notification issued by the Health Department on Friday stated, “The competent authority has approved the affiliation of DHQ hospital with medical college under “section 8″ of the Azad Jammu & Kashmir Medical Colleges (Governing Body) Act, 2024.”
As per the notification, the DHQ Hospital Hattian Bala District Jhelum Valley will serve as Teaching Hospital of AJK Medical College, Muzaffarabad. DHQ Hospital Bagh has given status as Teaching Hospital of Poonch Medical College, Rawalakot.
In addition to that, a notification was also issued for the establishment of regional centers of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan and University of Health Sciences Lahore in Azad Kashmir.
The health department also approved the establishment of three nursing and midwifery colleges along with medical colleges in Muzaffarabad, Poonch and Mirpur.
