Leopard mauled girl
On Friday afternoon, a leopard mauled and killed an 8-year-old girl in Nalai Dabran village of Azad Kashmir’s Jhelum Valley district, the same village where the student was injured in the second such attack.
The funeral prayer for Javeria Awan, the eight-year-old girl, was offered on Saturday.
Javeria was laid to rest at the Dabran Nalai graveyard with tearful eyes.
Despite the death of the child in the leopard attack, the Wildlife Department and Jhelum Valley administration took no action to capture the leopard.
A wave of strong anger and resentment spread among the public over the silence of the Wildlife and Jhelum Valley administration.
