BHOPAL, India (Kashmir English): A female police officer in India was caught on camera while stealing a mobile phone and cash from the house of her friend and also a neighbour, in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
The video has gone viral on social media involving DSP Kalpana Raghuvanshi.
According to Indian media, Kalpana Raghuvanshi is posted in the Madhya Pradesh Special Branch. Her friend Pramila Tiwari works in an insurance company and both are also neighbours.
Pramila withdrew two lakh rupees from the bank for her daughter’s school fees and kept the money in a bag at home.
Police officer stole mobile phone, cash
According to the report, taking advantage of the door open, DSP Kalpana allegedly entered the house and took the money along with a mobile phone.
Later, when Pramila checked the bag, the money was missing. CCTV footage clearly shows Kalpana leaving the house with the money and phone in her hand.
According to the affected woman, when she spoke to DSP Kalpana about the incident, the officer threatened her instead. The woman immediately lodged a complaint with the police.
During the investigation, Kalpana returned the stolen mobile phone, but the cash have not yet been recovered. Bhopal police teams are raiding to arrest the absconding female officer.
