PESHAWAR (Kashmir English): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KP Assembly Secretariat has issued a regular schedule for the election of the Chief Minister.

According to the schedule issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Secretariat, the election process will consist of 3 phases, which will be completed on October 12 and 13.

According to the notice, the nomination forms of the Chief Minister candidates can be submitted to the Assembly Secretary’s office till 3 pm on Sunday, October 12.

The candidate’s nomination papers must be signed by a proposer, a seconder, and the candidate himself.

The Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly will scrutinize the nominations received at 4 pm on the same day.

The Assembly session for the election has been called for 10 am on Monday, October 13. Before the start of voting, the Speaker will direct the bells to be rung in the Assembly Hall for five minutes, after which the doors will be closed and no one will be allowed to enter or leave.

The members of the assembly will register their votes according to their division number.

After the voting is completed, the votes will be counted, and the speaker will officially announce the elected chief minister.

According to the rules, if only one candidate is in the fray and he gets a majority of the total members of the assembly, he will be declared the elected chief minister; however, if the required majority is not obtained, the election process will be restarted.

If there is more than one candidate and no candidate gets a majority in the first ballot, a second ballot will be held between the two candidates who received the most votes, in which the candidate who gets the majority will be declared the elected chief minister.

It should be remembered that Ali Amin Gandapur has resigned from his post as Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Governor Faisal Karim Kundi confirmed that his resignation was received.

The Governor’s House has said that a decision will be taken on Monday to accept Ali Amin Gandapur’s resignation in accordance with the law.

Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has made it clear that he will remain the Chief Minister until Ali Amin Gandapur’s resignation is accepted.
