Kotli Police intensifies crackdown against drug dealers, criminals

KOTLI (Kashmir English): On the instructions of SP Kotli, Adeel Ahmed Langrial, Kotli Police are continuing indiscriminate operations against drug dealers and criminal elements across the district.

In a major move, Khuiratta Police Station has conducted several targeted raids, leading to multiple arrests and the recovery of drugs, illegal weapons, and stolen property.

According to SHO Khuiratta, Inspector Nauman Fazil, accompanied by ASI Mohib Ali Shah, and officers Yasir Khan, Imran Sarfraz, Amjad Hussain, who is the investigation officer, DFC Muhammad Wajid, and Sajad Ahmed.

Key operations by Kotli Police

The police carried out four key operations:

In the first raid, Irshad, son of Razzaq, a resident of Khuiratta and a habitual thief involved in multiple incidents within the city, was arrested. A case has been registered and investigations are underway.

In a separate operation, police recovered a 12-bore rifle from the accused Sajid, son of Syed Muhammad, a resident of Khuiratta.

In the third raid, a suspect named Saqlain, son of Muhammad Hussain, resident of Dhannan Khuiratta, was arrested. There was the recovery of a stolen motorcycle in his possession.

In the fourth operation, Yasir son of Abdul Hameed, a resident of Geer Khuiratta was arrested. He was carrying 520 grams of hashish, which was confiscated by the police and a case was registered. Further investigation is ongoing, with more developments expected.

Police will continue to conduct more effective operations to curb criminal activity and drug trafficking in the region.

Previously, acting on the orders of Superintendent Kotli Police Adeel Ahmed Langrial, a large-scale crackdown on drug dealers took place across the district, leading to a major seizure of 495 bottles of high-quality liquor in Sehnsa.

The operation targeted notorious individuals involved in the crimes, The police recovered 495 bottles of liquor during the raid and registered a case based on offences 3/4 in the Prohibition of Narcotics Act.
