MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Kotli Police arrested five suspects and seized a large quantity of liquor and unlicensed weapons on Saturday.
As per details, the police arrested Muhammad Yasin from his residence in Gora Trappa village. The suspect was allegedly involved in drug dealing.
Naar Station House Officer (SHO) Nauman Fazil said that during the search of Yasin’s house, police found 10 bottles of liquor.
The police registered a case under Sections 3 and 4 of The Prohibition (Enforcement of Hadd) Order, 1979, and Section 34 of the Azad Penal Code (APC).
During interrogation, the suspect disclosed information that led to the arrest of his accomplices — Luqman alias Mani, Adnan, his sibling Faizan, and Muhammad Ansar alias Bashi.
However, the police revealed that during the subsequent search, they seized around 200 more bottles of liquor, a 12-bore rifle, and ammunition, which he concealed in the backyard of his house.
The ammunition, which included two gas guns, three hand grenades, four grenade pins, two covers of used shells, and one tear gas box, was snatched from police personnel on May 11, 2024.
