Kashmiri student Arfa Arshad wins bronze at science competition in Singapore

RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): In a remarkable achievement for the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) region, Arfa Arshad, hailing from the Tarnoti area of Rawlakot, has won a prestigious Bronze Medal in the StemCo Global Finals, an International Science Competition held at the National University of Singapore (NUS) on Saturday.

Arfa Arshad, a Grade 9 student of The Palm-tree International Collegiate (TPTIC) in Rawalakot, represented Azad Kashmir in completion, where students from all over the world participated.

Earlier on February 13, a group of Pakistani students, led by Arfa Arshad, reached Singapore for the second round of the Kangaroo International Science Competition.

The international science competition hosted by the National University of Singapore is a prestigious global event that provides an opportunity for young students to showcase their talents in the field of science. Students from all over the world participate in this competition and present their research projects on various scientific topics.

Arfa Arshad’s groundbreaking project drew acclamation in the competition among hundreds of other projects and secured third position.  This success of Arfa has not only made her school but the entire region proud.

Her school expressed immense pride in her accomplishments and extended heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported Arfa on this journey

In a statement shared on its Facebook account, the school said, “By the Grace of Almighty Allah, we are thrilled to share that Arfa has achieved a remarkable feat! As a proud representative of Pakistan, Arfa secured the 3rd position and won a prestigious Bronze Medal at the StemCo Global Finals in Science at the University of Singapore.”

The international collegiate expressed overjoy for her outstanding achievement.

“Arfa’s hard work, dedication, and passion for science have truly paid off. Your encouragement, guidance, and prayers have been invaluable. May this achievement inspire and motivate others to pursue their dreams and strive for excellence,” the statement read.
