MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Individuals from different social strata including students, politicians, youth, and legal community have welcomed the launch of ‘Kashmir Digital’ as as a beacon of light in the social media landscape.
They termed the initiative as a right step towards improving the standards of journalism, particularly in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
‘Kashmir Digital’
The acknowledgement came from people belonging to diverse social backgrounds, occupations, and economic levels as ‘Kashmir Digital’, a social media news outlet, was formally launched here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Muslim Conference leader Sajjad Anwar congratulated the ‘Kashmir Digital’ team, hoping that the platform would highlight the issued faced by the general public in Azad Kashmir.
He was hopeful that the institution would focus and help resolve the issues ranging from Kashmir freedom movement to the problems being faced by ordinary man.
Core Member of the Students Movement, Ahmed Maqbool Mughal also hoped that the platform would play its due role in highlighting the issues faced by common man. He was of the view that the initiative would lead to open discussion on the public issues and ultimately pave way for their resolution.
Shazia Kiani Advocate, a young lawyer affiliated with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said that the green logo of the digital network would help turn Azad Kashmir into a really green region.
She said that journalists in the AJK are talented and added that the platform would amplify the voices of marginalized segments of society.
She said that the region really needed such a digital news platform which, she added, would bring revolution in the region.
The CEO of ‘Kashmir Digital’, Musawir Abbasi, in his inaugural address thanked all the distinguished guests who came there and graced the launching ceremony.
His suggestion was to have a focused research team engaged in linking all Kashmiri diaspora across the globe through ‘Kashmir Digital’. The event was the official launch of ‘Kashmir Digital’, the largest digital news network in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Prominent figures from politics, business, and media attended the inauguration ceremony held at PC Hotel Muzaffarabad.
