MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The CEO of Kashmir Digital, Musawir Abbasi, while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Kashmir Digital in Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), today, said, “I sincerely thank all the distinguished guests who have come here and graced our program, and for encouraging us.”

Musawir Abbasi, CEO of Kashmir Digital, when addressing the inauguration ceremony of ‘Kashmir Digital’ in Muzaffarabad, said development is a necessity for every nation. He welcomed all the dignitaries warmly and thanked them for their time and support.

Abbasi emphasized how the preservation of cultural heritage along with progress matters. He said that Abrar Hussain Shah, the head of the bureau, should, therefore, designate a special slot for local Kashmiri and mountain languages on this platform. The regional languages must be promoted and people across the globe must respect them as an integral part of Pakistan’s linguistic diversity.

He also put great stress on research and documentation. His suggestion was to have a focused research team engaged in linking all Kashmiri diaspora across the globe through Kashmir Digital. In his words, this would ensure that Kashmir’s issues and problems at large were focused upon.

He reflected on his observations during his recent visit to Kashmir in his speech. Abbasi admitted that there is tremendous development of infrastructure in Muzaffarabad, but stark contrasts were noticed between Kashmir’s tourism facilities and Murree. The proper communication services, the lack of good road infrastructure, and hospitality services were minimal. Therefore, despite the breathtaking beauty of Kashmir, it still has immense tourism potential unexplored.

Drawing comparisons with Switzerland and other global tourist destinations, he emphasized that Kashmir has unparalleled natural beauty, yet it lacks the essential facilities to support a thriving tourism industry. He passionately argued that if significant efforts were made to develop the region’s tourism sector, no Kashmiri youth would be left unemployed.

The event was the official launch of “Kashmir Digital,” the largest digital news network in Azad Kashmir. Prominent figures from politics, business, and media attended the inauguration ceremony held at PC Hotel Muzaffarabad. This platform is aimed at revolutionizing news dissemination in Azad Kashmir through modern technology, ensuring faster, more efficient, and more dynamic reporting.

Kashmir Digital is not just a local news source but a global voice for Kashmir, keeping the world informed about the most important issues facing the region. The attendees praised this initiative and wished it the best of luck to succeed in opening up a large window to authentic information access in Azad Kashmir.
