‘Kashmir Corner’ established in National Assembly Library

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Federal Minister, and Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon on Monday inaugurated the Kashmir Corner in the National Assembly Library.

According to the official statement, the “Kashmir Corner” houses rare photographs of Kashmiri martyrs and books on the freedom struggle and the historical background of Kashmir.

Historical documents, books, and information materials related to the Kashmiri freedom struggle have also been kept.

The establishment of the Kashmir Corner will prove to be a significant step forward in providing awareness and information about the Kashmir issue, it reads.

The Kashmir Gallery will prove to be an effective means of making members of parliament and the younger generation aware of the freedom struggle and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people.

Speaking on the occasion, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that Kashmir is the lifeblood of Pakistan. Pakistan will continue to support the Kashmiris in their political and diplomatic efforts.

The Pakistani nation’s stance on the Kashmir issue is the same, Sadiq said, adding that they will continue to support the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

The Speaker NA strongly condemned the ongoing human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and said that Indian atrocities cannot demoralize the Kashmiri people.

Federal Minister Rana Qasim Noon added that the establishment of the Kashmir Gallery is a good initiative of the Speaker National Assembly.

The participants of the event said that the establishment of the Kashmir Corner will provide easy access to authentic information to parliamentarians and researchers.

Kashmir Corners will also be established in the libraries of the Senate and provincial assemblies.

The participants of the event expressed solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir. The Kashmiri leadership appreciated the establishment of the Kashmir Corner by the National Assembly.

The members of the Kashmir Committee, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Chairman Standing Committee on Defense Sardar Fatehullah Khan Miankhel, MNA Agha Rafiullah, and MNA Dr. Darshan attended the inauguration ceremony.

Kashmiri leaders Convener Hurriyat Conference Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Muhammad Farooq Rahmani, Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, Abdul Hameed Lone, Sheikh Abdul Matin, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Muzammil Ayub Thakur, Lal Hussain Rajput, Naeem Khan, Jam Nabeel Mushtaq Darg, and Ahmed Tashfeen Khan were also present in the ceremony
