MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) will experience hot and dry weather during Eid-ul-Fitr due to continental air dominance, advising residents to take precautions against rising temperatures.

Kashmir is set to experience hot and dry weather during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, as per the latest forecast from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). The area will remain under dry weather conditions due to absent rain-bearing systems which will not bring any relief.

PMD officials predict continental air will prevail across most regions of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) thus maintaining hot climate conditions together with minimal moisture. The early morning, along with evening hours, bring cooler weather.

However, daily temperatures will exceed usual seasonal levels during this time period. The local population and all visitors need to practice protective measures against heat-induced medical conditions.

Muzaffarabad as the capital of AJK, will experience a warm climate alongside continuous clear skies during these holiday periods. Dry weather, together with occasional strong winds, will accompany the weather conditions across major areas such as Mirpur, Kotli and Rawalakot.

The higher locations within Neelum Valley and Bagh experience slightly lower temperatures, yet they will remain rain-free during this period.

Across Pakistan, the holiday period will bring observed dry hot weather to all regions beyond the Kashmir province. Weather forecasts indicate that the temperatures in Islamabad along Rawalpindi will be steady, with no chance of precipitation during this period.

The plains of Punjab will experience higher temperatures throughout the period as several areas experience windy conditions. Hot conditions will persist in Balochistan districts as gusty winds occasionally interrupt the dry climate across Sindh districts.

The upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province expect partial cloud cover without rainfall predictions. The region of Gilgit-Baltistan will stay predominantly dry since precipitation possibilities remain low.

According to the PMD residents in Kashmir along with other parts of the country should take defensive steps to protect themselves from heat, particularly during the late afternoon.

The recommended steps for protection include keeping inside buildings along with water consumption and blocking out sunlight. The authorities will observe weather conditions while issuing added information as required.

As Kashmiris prepare to celebrate Eid, they are encouraged to plan their outdoor activities accordingly, ensuring they remain safe and comfortable amid the warm and dry weather conditions.
