SRINAGAR (Kashmir English): Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has welcomed Pakistan Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir’s statement regarding Kashmir, terming it as a great morale booster for the struggling people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Pakistan’s commitment to Kashmir cause
In a statement in Srinagar, the DFP spokesman advocate Arshad Iqbal said Kashmiri people view Army Chief’s statement as a powerful reaffirmation of Pakistan’s commitment to Kashmir cause.
Thanking the Pakistan army for its crystal-clear stance on the Kashmir issue, he said that the statement will go a long way to uplift the morale of Kashmiris in their ongoing struggle for right to self-determination.
Meanwhile, President Pakistan Peoples’ Party (Policies & Planning) for the Gulf and Middle East, Malik Muhammad Ishaq, has praised the speech by Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir at the Overseas Pakistanis Convention, calling it inspiring.
He said General Munir reaffirmed the national stance by stating, “Kashmir is Pakistan’s lifeline, and we remain fully committed to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s vision.”
Malik Ishaq also congratulated OPF Chairman Syed Qamar Raza for organizing the convention. He appreciated General Munir for reiterating Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people in their freedom struggle against the Indian army.
He recalled that during a visit to Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the Army Chief had said Pakistan has already fought three wars with India over Kashmir and is ready for more if needed, which boosted the morale of Kashmiris.
He assured that as long as Pakistan’s armed forces are guarding the Line of Control (LoC), the enemy cannot dare to challenge Pakistan.
Malik Ishaq emphasized that on July 19, 1947, the people of Kashmir passed a resolution to join Pakistan, a decision upheld by their ancestors and one that will continue to be honoured by future generations.
He endorsed the Army Chief’s remark that even 1.4 million Indian soldiers cannot threaten Pakistan as long as the Pakistani military stands firm.
“If such a large army can’t shake us, how can a few terrorists defeat us?” he said, adding that Pakistan’s 240 million citizens stand with their army, which is the biggest force against India’s regional dominance.
