RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a strongly worded statement on Saturday condemning what is described as delusional, provocative, and jingoistic statements from Senior Indian security officials.

The ISPR said that such rhetoric risked fabricating pretexts for aggression that could imperil peace in South Asia.

In the release, the military spokesperson accused India of long-standing actions to play the victim card, stoke violence, and perpetrate terrorism across the region.

The ISPR said that, unlike in the past, the world now recognises “India as the true face of cross-border terrorism and epicentre of regional instability”.

The statement recalled the conflict earlier in May that brought the two nuclear-armed neighbours close to a major confrontation, saying India had “forgotten the wreckage of its fighter jets and the wrath of Pakistan’s long-range vectors” and suggesting New Delhi appeared “aching for the next round” of confrontation.

The ISPR warned that renewed hostilities could result in “cataclysmic devastation.”

The ISPR declared that Pakistan shall not hold back fresh hostilities from being triggered and would “resolutely respond without any qualms or restraint.

The statement added that Pakistan had established a “new normal of response” that, it said, would be “swift, decisive and destructive,” and asserted that Pakistani forces had the capability and resolve “to take the fight to every nook and corner of the enemy’s territory

“As for the talk of erasing Pakistan from the map, India must know that if the situation comes, the erasure will be mutual,” the statement added.
