RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): Gilgit-Baltistan’s Independence Day is being celebrated today (Saturday), for which preparations have been completed.
President Asif Ali Zardari is the chief guest at the central ceremony in Gilgit, and arrangements have been finalized in this regard.
On this occasion, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army has also released a beautiful song filled with patriotic sentiments.
The song, titled “Pakistan Ki Shan, Gilgit-Baltistan,” is performed by young singers from Gilgit-Baltistan that beautifully reflects the deep and eternal bond between the region’s people and their beloved homeland.
The song pays tribute to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives to protect the motherland.
The lyrics of the song also express the resolve that anyone who casts an evil eye on Pakistan has always faced humiliation and disgrace.
The song promotes the idea that the people should forget personal differences and unite for the brighter future of the country.
“We are a great nation, and to elevate this homeland, we must establish an atmosphere of unity, love, and brotherhood.”
It is worth remembering that November 1, 1947, is the day of the great struggle for Gilgit-Baltistan’s independence from Dogra rule. The objective of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan’s struggle was accession to Pakistan.
The Gilgit Scouts and local brave individuals declared war against Dogra rule, ending the Maharaja’s control. After the end of Dogra rule, the Pakistani flag was hoisted for the first time in the skies of Gilgit.
