Islamabad traffic diversion plan announced for August 13, 14

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Islamabad Police Chief Traffic Officer Captain (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider has issued a special traffic plan given the Independence Day celebrations.

This plan aims to facilitate citizens, ensure smooth traffic flow, and ensure effective security arrangements. Clear instructions have been issued for citizens and guests regarding entry, parking, and routes.

Fixed routes for entry

According to the plan, citizens can reach the Sports Complex from Faizabad Flyover via Murree Road, Kashmir Chowk, and Srinagar Highway.

Similarly, access to the Sports Complex will also be possible from Shaheen Chowk, Faisal Chowk, Constitution Avenue, and D Chowk (Srinagar Highway).

I-8 Interchange and Jungle Track can also be used for entry. Guests with Green Pass will be able to enter from all four sides through Faizabad Interchange, while guests with Blue and Yellow Cards will be able to enter the Sports Complex from Jungle Track or Garden Avenue.

Parking and Traffic Control

According to the Chief Traffic Officer, vehicles will be parked in the nearby ground in the absence of the driver. Entry of general traffic from Serena Underpass to Zero Point will be closed.

Citizens going to Bihar will take the route of Jinnah Avenue, Embassy Road, and Serena Globe Chowk. Instructions have been given to use Ninth Avenue (Srinagar Highway) to enter Islamabad.

Time restrictions

As per the plan, all routes of Garden Avenue will be closed for general traffic till 3 pm on August 13. Moreover, entry of heavy traffic into the city will be completely closed till the evening of August 13 and 14.
