Islamabad reports surge in dengue cases

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Federal capital Islamabad has reported surge in dengue cases over the past few days with the authorities striving to check the outbreak.

According to officials, as many as 32 new cases of dengue were recorded in the federal capital over the past two days, with 24 reported from rural areas and eight from urban areas of the city.

According to a District Health Officer office report, seven cases were recorded in Bhara Kahu, six in Rawat, four in Tarlai, four in Sohan, two in sector G-8, two in Koral, and two in sector I-14. One case each was reported in Tarnol, E-11, F-6, B-17 and sector H-13.

Dengue hotspots

The authorities have identified 12 dengue hotspots, with action taken at 440 locations.

A total of 40,896 anti-dengue activities have been conducted so far this season with fogging carried out at 1,800 sites across the city, said the officials.
