LAHORE (Kashmir English): In the fourth match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026, Multan Sultans defeated Islamabad United by 5 wickets.
In the match played between ISL vs MS at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, Multan Sultans achieved the target of 172 runs in 18.4 overs.
Batting first, Islamabad United scored 171 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Devon Conway scored 26 runs, and Sameer Minhas scored 28 runs, while Mark Chapman scored 40 runs off 21 balls.
Faheem Ashraf also played a useful innings of 26 runs. For Multan Sultans, Momin Qamar bowled well and dismissed 3 players, while Mohammad Wasim took 2 wickets.
In pursuit of the target, Multan Sultans did not have a good start, and Sahibzada Farhan was dismissed for just 2 runs.
However, Steven Smith took charge of the team by playing an innings of 31 runs. Josh Phillip batted brilliantly and scored 55 runs off 35 balls, and laid the foundation for the team’s victory.
Captain Ashton Turner played a responsible game and scored an unbeaten 43 runs, while Arafat Minhas scored 25 runs off just 11 balls to turn the match in the Sultans’ favor.
For Islamabad United, Shadab Khan and Salman Irshad took 2 wickets each.
