ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): It is obligatory for all those who possess an unregistered iPhone 16 Pro Max to get it approved by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to access all the features of the device.
PTA approval is obligatory to stop illegal mobile phones from being used in Pakistan, as such unapproved phones are harmful to national security.
It can verify the status of the phone by sending its IMEI to 8484. If it’s unapproved, he/she will have to go to the DIRBS portal and pay the said duty/taxes to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)
PTA Approval Service iPhone 16 Pro Max: Step-by-Step
- Locate the IMEI of your device. Dial *#06# on your mobile phone to get its 15-digit IMEI number.
- Send the IMEI number as an SMS to 8484.
- The owner will receive a response that the device is compliant, non-compliant, or if it’s a stolen one.
- Go to the PTA’s DIRBS portal
- Select the “Sign Up” option and enter your personal information to receive the login.
- PTA will send you an email or phone number verification link to activate your account.
- Get logged in using email and password
- Click “Registration of Mobile Device for Applicable Duty and Taxes”。
- Choose your user type and your mobile operator.
- Enter your device’s IMEI number.
- Submit the registration form.
- At this stage, you will receive the duty and tax information.
- Pay the tax to get your iPhone 16 Pro Max registered.
