RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): The 9th International Pakistan Army Team Spirit PATS competition held in Kharian has concluded successfully.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
In this international military competition, military teams from all over the world displayed their professional skills, physical and mental endurance, and combat capabilities.
Addressing the ceremony, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said that ‘character, courage and capability are the hallmarks of Pakistani soldiers’, especially in the ongoing struggle against terrorism, the Pakistani army is demonstrating these qualities in practice.
He appreciated the professionalism and extraordinary dedication of the participating teams and said that such exercises are very important to remain in tune with the modern warfare requirements.
According to the ISPR, the competition was a rigorous and realistic 60-hour patrolling exercise, aimed at exchanging modern military ideas and combat experiences.
The exercise was held in the semi-mountainous areas of Punjab from February 5, in which teams from 19 countries, including the United States, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Bahrain, participated, while Indonesia, Myanmar, and Thailand participated as observers. 16 local teams from the Pakistan Army and Navy also demonstrated their capabilities in it.
At the end of the ceremony, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir distributed prizes among the participants who showed outstanding performance.
Later, he visited the National Counter-Terrorism Center Pabbi, where he observed various training activities, including the newly established tactical simulator. International observers and defense attaches highly praised the high professional standards and discipline of the exercise.
