ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Commissioner Inland Revenue, Mirpur Division, Syed Ansar Ali, held an important meeting with the General Manager of Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL), Abid Naeem, at the PRAL head office in Islamabad.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Commissioner Inland Revenue, Syed Ali Asghar. Representing PRAL were Chief of Commercial Projects for Pakistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and Gilgit-Baltistan, Madam Farheen Azhar, Project Manager Madam Shamsa Iqbal, and Manager of Sales Tax Development, Faisal Suleman.
The detailed meeting focused on advancing the automation of the Inland Revenue Department’s operations. Key topics included data integration, data synchronisation, and the introduction of the latest automation modules to improve the efficiency of the tax system in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
An MoU has already been signed between the Central Board of Revenue AJK and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Pakistan concerning data integration. However, the absence of a fully functional data integration system has caused various difficulties for the region’s taxpaying community.
The PRAL management assured the attendees that this long-standing issue will soon be addressed practically. The PRAL team is now prioritising the implementation of data integration and synchronisation between the Central Board of Revenue AJK and FBR.
Alongside this development, several new features are also being added to the Inland Revenue Department’s automation system. FBR introduced three key technological features that include point-of-sale dashboards together with management information system reports for online sales tax returns. The implementation of new system enhancements makes tax operations smoother for taxpayers by providing data verification features through linked information systems and easier tax procedures.
Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited operates as an entity that provides technical services in Pakistan at the federal and provincial levels while performing extensive digitization projects for FBR. GM PRAL Abid Naeem, together with his team, declared their commitment to solving the long-standing issues affecting Azad Kashmiri taxpayers.
An appreciation message came from Inland Revenue Commissioner Syed Ansar Ali and Deputy Commissioner Syed Ali Asghar regarding PRAL’s continuous assisting team. The officials recognized it as the force behind the Azad Kashmir tax system’s modernization and endorsed the organization’s technical help commitment across all situations. The officials expect PRAL to sustain its complete future collaboration.
