NEW DELHI (Kashmir English): The Indian government has approved the participation of the Indian cricket team in the Asia Cup 2025, paving the way for the India-Pakistan clash next month.
The Indian Sports Ministry has confirmed that the Indian men’s cricket team will participate in the Asia Cup 2025 as it is a multinational event.
According to an Indian news agency, the Sports Ministry has announced that the teams of India and Pakistan can compete in international competitions, but there will be no bilateral series with Pakistan.
The Indian Sports Ministry says that no sports team will be allowed to go to Pakistan, nor will any Pakistani team be able to participate in any bilateral competition in India.
The Indian Sports Ministry said that according to the new policy, the Indian team will play the match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup as per the schedule, as it is a multinational event in which other teams from the region will also participate besides Pakistan.
It should be noted that the Asia Cup will start in the UAE on September 9. The Pakistan-India match in the tournament will be played on September 14 in Dubai.
