MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Speakers at a seminar here on Tuesday reiterated that India cannot frustrate Kashmiris indigenous freedom struggle through coercion, state terrorism, violence and imprisonment of Kashmiris.
The seminar was hosted at Kashmir Press Club Mirpur to mark August 5, 2019 as Kashmir Exploitation-cum-black Day week observed at both sides of the LoC in the State.

The president of the Union of Journalists, Hafiz Muhammad Maqsood Jaraal, presided over the seminar while Jammu Kashmir Milli Forum Chairman and senior Hurriyat leader Malik Muhammad Aslam was the chief guest.
Chief guest Malik Muhammad Aslam, while speaking on this occasion, said that India cannot crush the freedom movement of Jammu and Kashmir through the hardships of imprisonments.
The reign of oppression will end one day and the Kashmiri people will also enjoy the blessing of freedom.
He demanded that the Indian government immediately release the long-imprisoned Kashmiri leaders in occupied Kashmir.
He also demanded that the United Nations and the international community must play their due role to get released the incarcerated freedom-loving Kashmiris languishing in Indian and IIOJK jails.
He also called for holding of plebiscite in accordance with the Security Council resolutions for a just solution to the Kashmir issue in line with aspirations of the Jammu Kashmir people – a major party to the dispute.
Malik Aslam said that India has become isolated on the global stage due to the biased actions of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Indian Prime Minister has fueled his own era of oppression and persecution targeting Muslims and minorities in Indian Illegally occupied Jammu Kashmir and all over India.
The sacrifices of Kashmiris, he said, will not go in vain and soon Kashmiris will gain freedom from the clutches of India.
The chair Hafiz Muhammad Maqsood Jaral, while addressing the ceremony, said that the Indian government had abrogated the special status of Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir by revoking Articles 370 and 35A of its constitution so that non-Kashmiris [Indian citizens) could be settled in the occupied Kashmir with ulterior motives to change the population ratio.
“This unilateral move of India is an open violation of international laws including UN resolutions on Kashmir as well as the Indian constitution.
Kashmir freedom movement

Lauding convincing defeat India suffered at the hands of the valiant armed forces of Pakistan in a briefing war in May this year, the JKUJ President said that the brave and strategic response of Pakistan’s armed forces under the bravest leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir to India on May 10, raised the prestige of Pakistan and Pakistani forces all over the world.
Addressing the ceremony, former General Secretary of Mirpur Bar Abdul Rehman Umar Jaral Advocate said, “We have to effectively highlight India’s biased policies and atrocities at the global level”.
He said that after revoking the special status of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India was now reportedly taking steps to make Jammu a separate state with nefarious designs to destroy the unity of Jammu and Kashmir state.
He emphasised that effective measures are needed to get India stopped from such sinister steps.
The seminar was also addressed, among others, by the AJK High Court Bar Association President Raja Waseem Younis, District President MQM Pakistan Mahmood Ahmed Siddiqui, Dr. Tahir Mahmood, President Anjuman Falah-o-Behbud Insaniyat District Mirpur, Zafar Javed Jaral, District Chairman Refugee Action Committee, Dr. Iftikhar, General Secretary Liberation League, Ameer Tehreek-e-Labbaik Azad Kashmir Allama Abdul Ghafoor Tabani and Asif Butt of Jamaat-e-Islami AJK.
The speakers strongly condemned the Indian move of August 5, 2019 and said that India had occupied the state of Jammu and Kashmir undemocratically and illegally for the past 78 years.
India, they observed, was making a mockery of the decisions of the international community by keeping the whole world in the dark besides by not implementing the resolutions passed by the United Nations and the Security Council.
