RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): The police released sisters of Imran Khan near Chakri after they were arrested from outside Adiala Jail on Tuesday night.

Rioting was witnessed during a protest demonstration by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and workers outside the jail, after which the police arrested Imran Khan’s sisters. However, they were later released near Chakri.

Meeting with Imran Khan!

PTI leaders had come to meet former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, but jail authorities did not allow the meeting, which led to protests by party workers.

According to reports, the protesters said they would continue their sit-in until they meet Imran Khan. Negotiations between the police and the protesters also took place but were not fruitful.

After this, the police used water cannons to disperse the protesters, and the workers immediately left the area.

The protesters also had raincoats and plastic bags, which they had tied over their heads and said that they had come fully prepared, but they left when the water cannon was used.

During this time, the police arrested Imran Khan’s sisters Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, Noreen Khan, parliamentary leader Shahid Khattak, MPA Tanveer Aslam, and others, who were released in Chakri late at night.
