MIRPUR (Kashmir English): District Food Controller Mirpur and Safety Officer Imtiaz Hussain Lal on Tuesday sealed an illegal factory manufacturing supari and chalia in Mirpur.
According to the press release, the factory violated the Food Act and was operating unhygienically. Divisional Food Analyst Muhammad Jalil and supporting staff also participated in the operation.
During the raid, food authority officials found substandard raw materials, manufactured goods, and other items from the factory. The authority has initiated a formal investigation against the factory.
Food Authority statement further added that no legal document or registration certificate was presented by the factory owners.
“There was no name or identification mark of the factory, which makes it anonymous,” the statement read.
Speaking on the occasion, District Food Officer Imtiaz Hussain Lal said, “We are committed to providing quality and safe food to the citizens.”
“Violation of the Food Act will not be tolerated, and strict action will continue against illegal manufacturers.”
