ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): In an exclusive interview with a German magazine correspondent on September 5, 2025, the Director General (DG) Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, discussed important details about the illegal Afghan refugees.
He said that Pakistan has hosted millions of Afghan refugees in the last 40 years, and very systematic steps have been taken for the dignified return of Afghan refugees. Pakistan has extended the deadline for the evacuation of Afghan refugees on humanitarian grounds several times.
During the interview, DG ISPR clarified that there is credible evidence that illegal Afghan residents are involved in terrorism and serious crimes. He said that the main reasons for Afghan refugees to seek refuge were foreign intervention and civil war, and those reasons no longer exist.
He said about India that the violent incidents there are the result of the increasingly extremist policies of the Indian government. India presents its internal problems as external and external problems as internal problems.
India is involved in state-sponsored terrorist activities in Pakistan, and authentic evidence of the involvement of serving officers of the Indian Army in terrorist activities in Pakistan has come to light. Pakistan has presented this evidence before the United Nations several times.
The DG ISPR said that the international community should play its role in resolving the Kashmir issue, adding that Indian state institutions, including the army, are under the influence of extremist political ideologies.
He said that the state of Pakistan rejects all non-state elements without distinction, and there is no place for any army or armed group in Pakistan. No group or person other than the state has the authority to declare jihad. Pakistan has played the role of a frontline state in the war against terrorism and has made immense sacrifices in this war.
DG ISPR said that after the US withdrawal, American weapons left in Afghanistan are being used in terrorist acts, and the US has also expressed concern over this situation. He said that during the Pakistan-India tension and the struggle for justice, the leadership role of US President Trump emerged as a strategic leader.
He said that Pakistan’s relations with its brotherly country, China, are also constructive and strategic. The US has declared the banned Majeed Brigade a global terrorist organization.
Regarding Balochistan, he said that several killed terrorists of Fitna-ul-Hindustan were also included in the list of so-called missing persons.
