JHELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): An important meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Valley, Ms. Benish Jaral, regarding the law and order situation in Jhelum Valley.
Several prominent personalities attended the meeting, including the SP Jhelum Valley Abbas Ali Gardezi, DSPs, Assistant Commissioner Kamran Khan, Revenue Officer, dignitaries of the area, and scholars belonging to different schools of thought.
During the meeting, the officials considered a comprehensive strategy to ensure the security situation of the district, the establishment of law and order, and public safety.
Deputy Commissioner Benish Jaral said that the protection of life and property of the people is the top priority; for this purpose, scholars, civil society, and police administration should play their responsibilities more actively in cooperation.
She directed that SDMs and police officials at the tehsil level should maintain close contact so that an immediate response can be ensured in any emergency.
It was decided in the meeting that checking at the entrance and exit points of the district will be made effective, a close watch will be kept on suspicious elements, and the rule of law will be ensured in all cases.
SP Jhelum Valley Abbas Ali Gardezi said, “We all have to work together to maintain law and order in the district; no road should be blocked anywhere”
Jhelum Valley should be made a cradle of peace. Peaceful protest is everyone’s right, but no one will be allowed to block the road or take the law into their own hands,” he further stated.
