ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): A high-powered delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran led by Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf along with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad Friday night to participate in the Islamabad talks.

According to the official sources, the Iranian delegation was received by Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar along with Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshall Syed Asim Munir and Minister for Interior Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi upon arrival.

The Foreign Minister expressed the hope that parties would engage constructively, and reiterated Pakistan’s desire to continue facilitating the parties towards reaching lasting and durable solution to the conflict.

Iranian delegation will participate in Islamabad talks

The delegation will participate in the Islamabad talks as Pakistan is committed to continuing to facilitate lasting peace in the region.

With the arrival of the Iranian delegation in Islamabad, India’s desire for a failed Pakistan diplomacy has met an utter disappointment.

Indian authorities and media had been insisting that Iranian delegation will not come to Pakistan for the peace talks with the United States. However, Pakistan’s successful diplomacy made it possible for the warring parties to sit on a table and find a solution to the conflict.

With the events happening as per the plan, India’s biased speculations has fallen flat and Islamabad would continue to convince both sides to pursue peace.
