NEELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): Azad Kashmir faces intense rainfall that brings electric lightning, powerful gusts and thunderstorms in Neelum Valley and Rawalakot. The swift weather transition has brought gloom to the city after dark clouds settled over the skies, blocking daylight.

The persistent rainfall, together with expected hailstorms and wind intensity, has caused an increase in motorists to avoid the roads. The fear of safety during bad weather has caused public transportation systems to virtually stop operating.

The weather pattern in the Neelum Valley shares identical changes with the rest of the region. These areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmirs (AJK) receives nonstop torrential rain together with thunder and lightning attacks relentlessly.

Strong winds combined with thick black clouds have covered the skies while creating darkness across the valley that produces additional difficulties for the residents.

Athmuqam and several lower areas of the valley have been hit hard by intense rainfall. The persistent showers have made it difficult for residents of the areas to travel, causing serious disruptions to daily life.

With slippery roads, poor visibility, and the looming threat of landslides, movement between towns and villages has become risky.

Hailstorms covered the popular tourist destinations of Keran, Upper Neelum, Sharda, Kel and Taobat. Multiple vacation plans have been canceled and local residents face worry due to the abrupt weather conditions in the region.

The combination of hailstorms along with rain and windy conditions has intensified the difficulties faced by everyone living in the area together with the visiting tourists.

The bad weather conditions have disrupted essential service operations across the area. The power infrastructure of different areas in Neelum Valley has failed which cut off electrical service to numerous households. Internet service remains unstable in the area because frequent interruptions result in communication challenges.

The disruptions caused by poor connectivity have affected especially those who work or study digitally as well as people who communicate through online means with their loved ones.

People of Rawalakot and Neelum Valley prepare to endure upcoming difficulties despite rain that does not end. The area remains in a dilemma due to disabled transportation systems and basic utility disruptions as well as ongoing dark weather conditions.
