MUZAFFARABAD ( Kashmir English): After limiting their protest against the government to hospitals, health workers in Dadial tehsil of Azad Kashmir have now taken to the streets.

The reason for the protest is the non-approval of the Charter of Demand, which has exhausted the patience of the health workers. According to local sources, a large number of health workers, including a significant number of women, took out a rally from the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital and surrounding areas to Sher Abbas Bhalot Chowk.

The protesters raised strong slogans against the government and demanded that their Charter of Demand be approved immediately so that the legitimate rights of employees working in the health sector could be provided.

The health workers participating in the protest rally said that they have been presenting their demands to the government for several months, but no significant steps have been taken so far.

According to local hospital sources, traffic flow on roads was affected during the protest, and citizens faced difficulty in transportation. The health workers urged the government to implement their charter of demands, which includes salaries, facilities, and other employment-related issues.

According to public reaction, citizens are supporting the health workers’ protest as it is an issue directly related to the improvement of the health sector and the quality of public services.

The active participation of women health workers in the protest is evidence that employees at all levels are equally involved in this movement and they are determined for their rights.

Health workers say that if the government ignores their demands, the protest will continue on a wider scale, and this movement may spread to other tehsils as well.
