Women are foundation of society
According to Islamic teachings, a woman, as a mother, daughter, sister, and wife, is the foundation of society, and her education, training, and character-building plays a vital role in the formation of a strong society.
The speakers also emphasized that the purpose of empowering women is not unbridled freedom, but to provide them with honour, protection, and a dignified status in society.
“A civilised society is one where women have the opportunity to live with honour and respect and to utilise their potential.”
The women participating in the walk said that the trust and support of their parents, brothers, and husbands have played an important role in bringing them to where they are today.
They said that whatever they are, it is because of the trust and encouragement of their families, and without their support, they could not have reached this position.
The women also emphasised that they perform household duties themselves along with professional responsibilities and are playing their part for the betterment of both home and society.
On this occasion, the role of Hamza Development Foundation and Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) was also appreciated. The speakers said that these organizations are rendering valuable services for the welfare, economic independence, and promotion of social awareness among women in society.
