After winning the toss, Pakistan opted to bat first, hoping to capitalise on the favourable conditions and post a defendable total.
Openers Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub put on a dominant show with a 100-run partnership that laid the foundation for a competitive score of 189/4 in the allotted 20 overs.

Pakistan made two changes to their side, bringing in Khushdil Shah and Haris Rauf in place of Fakhar Zaman and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
