ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The federal government has reached out to the government of Azad Kashmir to allocate land for the establishment of a Daanish School in the Forward Kahuta district.

In a letter written to the Chief Secretary of Azad Kashmir, the Ministry of Federal Education has “requested a suitable parcel of land be allocated for the establishment of a Daanish School in District Forward Kahuta.”

It further added that the selected site should have proper access and basic facilities available in the vicinity.

“The Prime Minister of Pakistan, during the ground-breaking ceremony of Daanish School Bagh, directed to establishment of a Daanish School in district Forward Kahuta,” the letter reads.

The development came after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the Daanish School “as a gift”  for Forward Kahuta at the request of AJK’s newly elected prime minister, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, on November 20.

He announced during the groundbreaking of a Daanish School in Harighel in the Bagh district of AJK. He also said that the foundation stone of a Daanish School would soon be laid in Neelum Valley.

Speaking at a ceremony, the prime minister said the network of Daanish Schools, launched in Punjab in 2010, had grown across the country and was transforming the lives of children from underprivileged areas.

PM Shehbaz said construction work on the Daanish School in Bhimber, initiated early this year, had already reached 35 per cent completion. He said he had directed the Education Department to ensure the school’s inauguration on March 23, 2026.
