NAWABSHAH (Kashmir English): The government delegation has made significant progress in its meeting with the President, as the PML-N and the PPP have agreed to stop their rhetoric, according to sources.
A delegation of the PML-N and the federal government arrived at the Zardari House, Nawabshah, to meet President Asif Ali Zardari to reduce tensions between the Punjab government and the PPP.
The delegation included Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
Various issues related to the recent tensions between the Punjab and Sindh governments came under discussion in the meeting with President Zardari.
According to sources, the government delegation briefed President Asif Ali Zardari about the discussions held in the meeting of the PML-N leaders with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Meanwhile, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has called a CEC meeting on October 18 for important political decisions.
In this regard, the party spokesperson said that the PPP’s CEC meeting will be held at Bilawal House, Karachi.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had directed that the concerns of the coalition party, the PPP, be removed.
The Prime Minister said that relations with the PPP should not be damaged due to political statements.
It should be remembered that for the past several days, there has been a verbal exchange between the Punjab and Sindh governments.
The PPP expressed serious reservations over the statement of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and walked out of the National Assembly and demanding an apology for her statement.
However, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that if anyone speaks against Punjab, as the Chief Minister, I will definitely answer him and protect the people of the province. I will not apologize to anyone.
