The new price of petrol will be Rs366 per litre, while the new price of diesel will be Rs385 per litre.
The Prime Minister stated that the reduction in diesel prices would lead to a decrease in agricultural sector costs and public transport fares, and that it is the responsibility of the government to pass on the benefit of falling oil prices in the international market to the public.
He added that if costs are not reduced, the hard work of farmers will be wasted, and with the wheat harvest beginning, it is extremely important to reduce farmer costs.
