ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): In a groundbreaking move, Pakistan has achieved another milestone by surpassing India and the global average with respect to optimism, economic outlook, and hopes of peace in the latest Global Economic Gallup Survey results at the start of the year 2026.
According to the Global Economic Gallup Survey, performed in 60 countries, shows that a net 51 percent of people in Pakistan are optimistic about next year, with a net positive of 31 percent.
In comparison, the figure in India was 39 percent, whereas the average was a low 24 percent. On the economic outlook, Pakistan ranks first with a percentage of 53, meaning that Pakistan predicts a prosperous 2026 compared with India and the global average.
Pakistan’s positive economic forecast reflects increased consumer confidence despite international uncertain economic conditions.
In terms of expectations of peace, Pakistan has also proved very strong.
This represents one of the most optimistic scores ever recorded in Pakistan since 1994; such patterns have been noticed in the late 1990s and in the mid-2010s in the past.
Overall, it appears that the Global Economic Gallup Survey shows that Pakistan has fared better than the world average on three important dimensions: the level ofoptimism, the extent of economic prosperity, and the hope for peace.
Of importance here is the fact that Pakistan has done better than India on two out of the three dimensions mentioned above. The results indicate that despite the difficult and unpredictable global scenario, Pakistani nationals exhibit confidence and hope with respect to economic development and global peace in the year 2026 compared to the rest of the world.
