PESHAWAR (Kashmir English): The funeral prayer of Major Adeel Zaman Shaheed, who embraced martyrdom while fighting against Fitna al Khwarij in Khar, Bajaur District, was offered at Peshawar Garrison today.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Commander Peshawar Corps, along with military and civil officers and the public attended the funeral.
Earlier today, Major Adeel Zaman was martyred while five Indian sponsored khwarij were killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO).
“During the conduct of the operation, due to effective engagement by our troops, five Indian sponsored khwarij were sent to hell,” the ISPR statement said.
The military’s media wing said that Field Marshal paid rich tribute to the sacrifice of Major Adeel Zaman Shaheed, highlighting that the martyrs of the Pakistan Army are the pride of the nation and their sacrifices will forever be remembered.
He prayed for the elevation of the Shaheed’s ranks in Jannah and for patience and strength for the family.
“Major Adeel Zaman Shaheed laid down his life in the line of duty while leading from the front,” the ISPR said.
“Pakistan Armed Forces remain resolute in their commitment to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country, and such sacrifices further strengthen the nation’s resolve,” it stated.
Furthermore, the statement added that the shaheed will be laid to rest with full military honors in his native town in Dera Ismail Khan.
“Later, the Field Marshal visited CMH Peshawar to inquire about the health of officers and soldiers injured during the operation and lauded their courage and steadfastness.”
