Former PM AJK Abdul Qayyum Niazi placed under four-day house arrest

MIRPUR (Kashmir English): In a recent development, the Former Prime Minister and President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi, has been placed under house arrest for four days.

According to the order issued by the District Magistrate Mirpur, the former PM will remain under house arrest for four days, i-e, from August 03 to August 06, 2025.

The notification states that former Prime Minister Abdul Qayyum Niazi, along with his associates, were trying to disrupt the public order and public order, and Abdul Qayyum Niazi was posing a threat to public order.

According to the notification,  16MPO action has been taken against Abdul Qayyum Niazi; he will remain in the Central Jail for four days or until further orders.

Abdul Qayyum Niazi has the authority to challenge this order in any authorized forum. The District Magistrate Mirpur has sent a letter to the Secretary Assembly in this regard.

Earlier, The Former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi, was arrested on his way from Samahani to Bhimber.

According to the sources, the President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Abdul Qayyum, was arrested following the orders of Prime Minister AJK Chaudary Anwar-ul-Haq.
