Forbes Technology Council recognises Mehwish Salman for tech innovation

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistani-Origin Mehwish Salman Ali has been selected as a member of the Forbes Technology Council. She is the only female IT and fourth technology expert in the prestigious think tank listed as a Pakistani.

As a Forbes Technology Council member, she represents the country at an honoured level, influencing C-suite executives and policymakers. Her selection proves that Pakistan’s skill in emerging technologies is not just growing but making waves on the global stage.

Born and raised in Pakistan, she moved to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and then the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She also established Pakistan’s first women-led solar-powered data centre with headquarters in Pakistan and offices in different countries. She also founded a company named Data Vault, in Pakistan, which is both a technical and cultural breakthrough. It combines sustainability, security, and innovation to provide a green, future-ready infrastructure for businesses.

Mehwish is driving the next wave of AI innovation, actively working on agentic and generative AI projects that push the boundaries of automation, intelligence, and business security.

The main objective of her work is to make Pakistan a leader in AI-driven transformation while integrating local AI experts into international artificial intelligence development processes.
Through her dedication to promoting entrepreneurs and developing AI-based enterprises, Pakistan is establishing itself as a significant force in global technology.

Mehwish Salman judged 250 female startup ventures before selecting 100 companies to attend the SheEarns Expo where they could exhibit their business ventures for free. The event attracted representatives from USAID as well as Turkish Crescent alongside Women Chamber of Commerce Pakistan together with important politicians and leaders from each industry who commemorated this initiative. SheEarns attracts media attention through various newspaper publications because it promotes female financial independence across Pakistan.
