MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The AJK Food Authority has banned the sale of 17 different types of snacks and other food items, including cooking oils, declaring them as harmful to health.
As per details, the products were banned after the lab testing report declared them ‘unsatisfactory. ‘
The products of the said companies with “specific MFG and Expiry Date” were banned from being sold in Azad Kashmir under Section 25 (Unsafe food) of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Food Authority Act 2017.
The products include Master Abarar Food’s Chicken Karahi, Master Biryani Karahi, and Tikka Masala snacks. Kamyab Banaspati, Kamyab Oil, Kainat Super Canola, and Shahi Banaspati were also banned.
The step was taken following the establishment of mobile food testing labs with the efforts of Secretary Food Authority Abdul Hameed Kayani.
This led to the crackdown against those who were involved in the heinous business of adulterated products in remote areas of Azad Kashmir.
“The public should avoid purchasing the following items and immediately report the presence of such dangerous and harmful items anywhere to the relevant administration, the AJK food authority spokesperson said.
