MIRPUR (Kashmir English): On Sunday, March 23, the district administration and Municipal Corporation of Mirpur will hold a flag-hoisting ceremony to mark Pakistan Day.
The ceremony will take place at the Municipal Corporation’s green area starting at 8:45 am, with sirens expected to sound at 8:58 am, followed by a minute’s silence.
The flag of Pakistan and the flag of Azad Kashmir will be hoisted, with a colorful contingent of policemen giving a salute and guard of honor.
Deputy Commissioner Yasir Riaz has urged the people of Mirpur and everyone in attendance local leaders, councilors, government officials, lawyers, traders, journalists, and every member of society to attend and showcase their love for the country.
Deputy Commissioner Yasir Riaz encouraged the people of Mirpur to participate in full for the central flag hoisting ceremony and indicated that this is more than just a ceremony, but a showcase of national soul.
This is all in celebration of Pakistan Day, which marks the passing of the Lahore Resolution in 1940 and is an important date in the country’s fight for independence.
