NEW YORK (Kashmir English): Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) has nominated Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir and US President JD Vance for the 2027 Nobel Peace Prize.

According to the details, the SFJ has submitted a nomination to the Norwegian Nobel Committee in this regard.

SFJ said that this nomination has been made based on the key and historic role of both personalities in the recent ceasefire between the US and Iran.

The head of the organization, Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, said in his statement that Field Marshal Asim Munir, through his ‘command diplomacy’, established contact between Washington and Tehran and did what even the United Nations had failed to do.

He said that Asim Munir will be remembered as the ‘savior’ of peace for centuries to come, as his intervention averted the threat of a major global armed conflict.

Garptwant Singh Pannu added that US Vice President JD Vance took very important political decisions for this process.

SFJ has demanded that Pakistan and the US adopt the same diplomatic model to resolve the issue of ‘Khalistan’.

He alleged that the Modi government is carrying out extrajudicial killings to suppress Sikhs and that Indian-occupied Punjab has become a “ticking time bomb” for which international intervention is necessary.

Nobel Peace Prize nominations

PML-N Chief Whip Rana Muhammad Arshad has moved a resolution in the Punjab Assembly seeking the nomination of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar for the Nobel Peace Prize.

The resolution praises the trio for their effective diplomacy in the backdrop of the Middle East crisis, stating that their efforts paved the way for promoting peace and stability in the region.

Pakistan made headlines worldwide after Islamabad brokered a US-Iran ceasefire just hours before Donald Trump’s “hell” warning was set to expire.

The international community breathed a sigh of relief on late Tuesday night after US President Trump announced that he had agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran after discussions with PM Shehbaz and Field Marshal Munir.
