Federal govt likely to reduce petrol prices for next 15 days

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The petrol prices are likely to be reduced by Rs 3.70 per liter as the initial working paper on the reduction in the prices has been prepared.

There is a possibility of a reduction in petroleum prices by up to Rs 6.50 per liter in the next fortnightly review.

The price of diesel is proposed to be reduced by Rs 4.28 per liter.

Similarly, kerosene is likely to be cheaper by up to Rs 73 per liter and light diesel by up to Rs 6.35 per liter.

It has been further informed that the final working paper on the prices will be sent to the government on November 30, after which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will give final approval on the new prices.

Earlier, the federal government increased diesel prices, and petrol prices have been maintained at the same levels across the country for the next fortnight, effective from Sunday, November 15.

According to the Ministry of Finance notification, the price of petrol per liter has been maintained and diesel has been increased by Rs 6 per liter.

According to the notification, the price of petrol per liter is Rs 265.45, while the price of diesel will be Rs 284.44 per liter.
