ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Claims made by the Afghan Taliban Ministry of Defense and TOLO News English about successful airstrikes by the Afghan Air Force against Pakistani military targets in Kohat are false.

The Ministry of Defense of the Afghan Taliban (@MoDAfghanistan2) on social media and TOLO News have made claims that strategic targets have been hit in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the military fortress, command center, depots, and soldiers’ quarters.

The claims are also that “heavy human and material losses” have been caused to the enemy.

Fact Check

Security forces in Kohat shot down three rudimentary drones used by militants backed by the Afghan Taliban on March 13, according to security sources.

These drones were launched by members of a group known as FAK. However, security forces were able to intercept and destroy all three drones before they reached their targets.

At least two civilians were wounded as a result of debris from the drone attack in Kohat. The wounded were taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

According to security authorities, Pakistani security forces are on high alert to avert any possible threats from terrorist organizations with support from Afghanistan.

Officials also warned that any terrorist activity in Pakistan traced back to Afghan territory would be met with a strong response, targeting militant hideouts and support networks inside Afghanistan.

False Claims made by the Afghan Ministry

The claims made by the Afghan Ministry of Defense have been found to be false in many cases. There is no evidence of any damage to any Pakistani military infrastructure or any casualties among the soldiers.

The claims made by the Taliban and TOLO News are for the purpose of increasing their morale.
