ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan is expected to observe Eid-ul-Adha on Saturday, June 7, 2025, based on early moon sighting predictions, the astronomical experts said.
However, the final decision regarding the moon’s visibility in Pakistan will be announced by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
Earlier, the Emirates Astronomy Society predicted that Eidul Adha would fall on Friday, June 6, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the Zil Hajj moon is expected to be visible on May 27
The astronomical experts said that the moon is likely to rise at 7:02 AM, and it is expected to be visible for about 38 minutes after sunset, increasing the chances of a clear sighting.
Muslims around the world mark Eid-ul-Adha to commemorate the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to the command of God.
Periodically, the devotees will take part in a ritual called Qurbani, where animals such as cows, goats, sheep, or camels will be slaughtered according to the guidelines of Islam.
The meat is distributed amongst family members, relatives, and those in need, honoring the spirit of sharing and generosity.
