JAKARTA (Kashmir English): An elderly couple from Indonesia have finally fulfilled their beautiful dream of performing Hajj after working as cleaners for 40 years and saving a little each.
An elderly man named Legiman and his wife were cleaners in Indonesia. They started saving together in 1986 with the intention of performing the Hajj.
Despite the difficulties of time, financial constraints, and the ups and downs of life, their determination did not weaken, and after 40 years, their eyes were full of gratitude and joy because they had reached the house of God.
Speaking to the Saudi Press Agency, Legiman said that this moment was like a dream for him. He said that he could not believe that he would ever be able to see the Kaaba with his own eyes.
There was a spiritual glow and peace on his face, which is the reward of years of prayer and patience. He said that while his perseverance and prayers played a major role in making the journey possible, the Mecca Route Initiative and other helping hands also played a big role.
He added that I am first and foremost grateful to Allah and then to all the people who made our journey easy. I could not have imagined that this would ever be possible.
